The Queen Mother by Bruno Merli
This great lady lived almost 102 years. Born a commoner during the last years of Queen Victoria, she married for love the second son of George V never expecting to be Queen. She fortified her husband and the nation during the blitz on London as the Queen consort and last Empress of India. Widowed early, she spent half of her life as Queen Mother and became the most popular Royal of all time. This bust is a tribute by Italy’s leading portrait sculptor, Bruno Merli.
